My Birthplace
I, Hussein Hajilari, was born on the 1st of Mehr 1358 (Hijri Shamsi) in the village of Shafiabad Fendersk, located in Golestan Province in northern Iran.
My Education
I have a diploma, a bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree in photography.
The Beginning of My Photography Career
I started my photography career in 1374 (Hijri Shamsi) by attending training courses at the Young Cinema Association of Tehran and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
My First Journey to Karbala
My first journey to Karbala was in 1382 (Hijri Shamsi), marking the beginning of my spiritual connection with this sacred land.
My Work in the Shrine Expansion Project
In 1395 (Hijri Shamsi), I settled in Karbala as a photographer and documentary filmmaker for the grand project of expanding the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).
My Mission
I strive to use my camera to convey not only images but also the profound emotions and deep meanings of love for Imam Hussein (AS) to the world.
I am always in search of the hidden angles of Karbala.

1. First place in the inaugural “We Are the Nation of Imam Hussain” festival in 2022.
2. Third place in the second “We Are the Nation of Imam Hussain” festival in 2023.
3. An honorary mention in the second Global Arbaeen Award in 2016.
4. First place in the ninth Global Arbaeen Award in 2023.
5. First place in the 14th Mehr Muharram Festival in 2022.
6. First place in the inaugural Women’s Arbaeen Award in 2023.
7. Third place in the first Global Photography Competition of Imam Hussain’s Shrine in 2021.
8. An honorary mention in the first Ebrat Festival in 2015.
9. An honorary mention in the third Ebrat Festival in 2018.
10. First place in the fourth Ebrat Festival in 2020.
